Understated or Spartan ? The Council [assume they put the decorations up in the town] really don't appear to have pushed the boat out for such a popular part of the town.

I love the café picture. I would like to go to Holmfirth when it's snowing but I've got a fear of slipping over!

It always looks great covered in snow, but getting about is always risky

As the de-icer ads say, "Walk like a penguin."

That looks silly and doesn't work very well, so I prefer to wear boots with serious tread, and carry my pair of Stabilicers to strap on if needed. Just remember to take them off before setting foot indoors because they'll badly chew up any floor surface.
