I was at York Races a few years back and Royal Ascot was moved there whilst they developed the Ascot Course . All of the Royals attended the meeting including Charles and Camilla . It was a time when Camilla was perhaps not accepted by people as she is today and the press were having a field day . I was standing in the enclosure on the inside of the track looking across to the stands . There were two Irishmen standing near me wondering which Royals were in the original stand, that was used purely for the dignitaries, when one asked the other if he thought Camilla was there quick as a flash the other said yes I can see her bridle glinting in the sunlight .
