Early appearance of Cooper and Walsh

I have just re-watched "Three Men and a Mangle".

1989 vintage.

The two - at that point - anonymous policemen were played by Ken Kitson and Louis Emerick.

Superb episode - but was this one of their earliest appearances - I am aware that Tony Capstick palyed one of the duo for some time afterwards.

Any one can recall an earlier one?

Well we asked - it was actually Downhill Racer - 10th series - first shown in November 1988.
