Having watched Dried Dates and Codfanglers yesterday evening and heard Compo talking about thumbing through some old copies of the Ferret Fancier I wondered if there were actually any Ferret fancier`s publications.

Slightly OT but still about Ferrets....I have often wondered who handled the ferrets in LOTSW.As far as I can remember,we never saw a full/long shot of Compo handling a ferret but rather,a close up of "someones" hands.

I always understood that he did not want to be near them.

Probably remembers the famous Richard Whiteley interview (1977 I think) when he was bit by a ferret in the ITV Yorkshire local news programme, Calendar.

If you have an unknown ferret it's best to hold them with a grip under their armpits as it's very hard for them to bite you. I've had mine from kits and so are used to being handled from an early age, the larger male is the softest thing you could imagine but the smaller female is a reet nowty bugger
