Ferret's

Alan Bell mentioned that Bill Owen never handled the ferret's which becomes clear watching any episode that appears to show Compo handling a ferret, the scene always cuts so you don't see Compo's face, in one episode (Title escapes me) in a church, the hands of the person that holds the ferret are much different to Compo's

Well, there seemed to be a requirement that an animal that says Yorkshire must be included. So there was the Yorkie in the first episode. Well, not so much, so bring on the ferrets which were easy because they were almost always in a cage. And when they had to be out of the cage, there was the convenient really close close-up.
