I'm with you on the black pudding but the only decent liver to find it's way to my plate is from the roe deer, when fresh there is nothing that can touch it for flavour and texture.I don't mind black pudding, but became really bored with liver.
When I went to Hawes a few months back I was amazed to see loads of rabbits hanging up in the butchers there!Tripe and cow heels was a favourite of my Grandpa in the 70’s. I remember going to the local butchers to buy it with him.
Rabbit is one of my favourite meats but it’s nigh on impossible to buy from the butchers around here even though I live in a rural county and there’s hundreds of the little buggers hopping about everywhere. I have lost count of the amount of times I’ve asked for it locally and on my travels up the road in the Peak District. I found some ( frozen) in the butchers at Bakewell last week.£££££££££!!
Isn't any meat that you're being encouraged to try "like chicken"?When I went to Hawes a few months back I was amazed to see loads of rabbits hanging up in the butchers there!
Never tried rabbit before, is it like chicken?

When I was very young, we raised a few rabbits for the table. One day my father was holding me up in front of the cage to feed a lettuce leaf to one of them. The dear bunny took the leaf and bit through my thumbnail! I very much enjoyed eating that one when it appeared at dinner.
