Game of Thones

I have not watched it either missed early episodes and with so many series now gone by its too late to start and watch the box set from my perspective.

Until the other year I was thinking that I might be the only one not to have seen it yet, haha. It is very good and pulls you in. I am caught up on watching the shows and am now reading the books. Half way through the second book currently. The acting, writing, plot twists are all excellent.

The TV show has now outpaced the author of the book series. Will be interesting to see how things go from here. The author is currently writing the next book while the TV producers are working on the final two seasons.

Over the course of events the author can have you like and then dislike him then back to liking him again depending on what is going on with your favorite character(s). There is a lot going on so it takes a bit to soak in. Like if you watched Downton Abbey and you have all the characters in it and you have to figure out who is who. It takes place in harsh times, there is nudity and violence in the shows / books but it is within the context of things. If you saw and liked the Vikings series on Discovery channel you may like this as well.

My advice is to start at the beginning. Rent the DVD's or stream them to see what you think of the show. It is an epic saga of a story so if it seems a little slow in places it is just building up for bigger things. Cliffhanger series endings can be an understatement as it applies to this show.

If you watch it please comment back on your thoughts. I'd be happy to chat with another Game of Thrones fan.

Cheers,
Rick

Never too late captain! Imagine all you would have missed if you just discovered LotSW half way through the series and felt it was too late to start watching the show.

Not watched it but it sounds interesting. I have read all the INSPECTOR BANKS books but the t v do's not do them justice. So it might be worth me catching Game of Thrones before trying the books.:o o:

I've watched all the Banks shows but not read the books, I'll have to try and find the books. I've taped last weeks and will watch it when the 2nd part is shown so don't give it away but I hope what I think happened didn't happen!!

As for Game of Thrones I've never seen it, husband loves it but sits upstairs to watch it! People laugh when I say that????

Yes, it is really worth it to track down the books.
