@Dan 's recent post has got me thinking...

Can anyone recommend any really good Christmas episodes for any of the comedies which appear on the Gentle Comedies thread? I do fancy watching a bit of vintage Christmas comedy as it'll be undoubtedly better than the newer rubbish put out this year...

The Christmas editions of To The Manor Born & The Vicar of Dibley immediately spring to mind. My favorite is probably the Keeping Up Appearances special The Father Christmas Suit. I also find the Are You Being Served? especially funny, and the line where Captain Peacock says "Do you require stuffing Mrs Slocombe?" has me in stitches everytime :D :D :D

Both the Man about the House and Open all Hours shorts are good festive fun but sadly not long enough. Oh no it's Selwyn Froggitt has a good one and whilst not strictly a comedy the Darling Buds of May episode Christmas is coming and some of the earlier Heartbeat Christmas numbers are well worth a watch.
 
Really good call there mashibinbin, I've only got into Heartbeat these past few years and you're right they're a very gentle and enjoyable watch....

They have recently posted a bunch of British shows, specials and commercials with a Christmas theme. About 80+ at rough count over the last 2 weeks. Most I do not recognize but am sure you might.
