I must admit that in the later years I thought that Lenny was one of the better occasional characters introduced. I think they could have done more with him. Bobby Ball was just enough of a crackpot to get away with the situations that his character found himself in. I did wonder that given Lenny was related to Barry we might have seen more of him, but he only appears in 3 episodes. To be honest, I would have preferred Bobby Ball's Lenny to have been part of a new trio rather than Russ Abbot's Hobbo, that is if you were picking well known faces from the 70's for the role. Ball is a solid actor in these type of roles and could have been the new fall guy of the three.

One other point, it would seem that Cannon and Ball came as a pair in LOTSW. Tommy Cannon's acting however left a lot to be desired. It's clear from this episode that he can't really act.

As far as I am aware we didn't hear anything about Barrys relatives. Seymour was related by Barrys marriage to Glenda.

Just remembered we did hear mention of his godfather who I think had a fling with Roz before.

But was he ever seen? I think Lenny is the only relation of Barry that appears in an episode.

Get Out Of That Then was the last episode that Bobby Ball appeared in back in 2008. He did appear in two other episodes in 2005 and 2006 as Lenny - the swan man, but I'm wondering when it was first mentioned that he was Barry's cousin. I would have to watch the first two again as I don't recall it from those episodes. Does anyone know if it was mentioned in those first two? If it wasn't, then you have to wonder why it became part of his story in his third appearance? Perhaps they were building up his role to one that might become more regular later on? Ball wasn't very well known for his acting at that time, but has since put in some good performances, Not Going Out and The Security Men spring to mind.

Compo,s family were a right bunch vis Our Eric and the family they went to the stately home with they all seemed a bit on good terms with the constabulary.
