I am working overnight tonight and Sunday night. My experience tell ' s me that we are going to be very busy as a lot of companies are having their Christmas partie's tonight as they are closing for the holiday's. Hope it's not too bad. Going to bed now for a few hour's. I have Sat off. Try to finish my Christmas shopping!!

Just watched on catch up TV news re the office parties, a sad world when so many folk go out to enjoy themselves and end up in A&E or the police station, I cannot see much enjoyment in that

I saw that as well Terry. When I seen that I was on a night shift last night I knew that we were going to be very busy and true to form it was frantic from around midnight until . There will be a lot of people waking up with sore head's and and other injurie's today,

Gill I said this in a mail to Pete, given the profession you are in I have nothing but admiration for what you do and what you have to deal with , you deserve all the remuneration in the world and a medal as big as a dustbin lid . In Newcastle and North East there were 532 emergency calls down 70 on last year and 31 arrests for drunkenness in Newcastle , the photos in the local paper seem to show everyone dressed up and enjoying themselves . There is no report from the Newcastle A&E as to how busy they were but the spin seems to be that it was far more peaceful than previous years.

I hope that you weren't too stretched or distressed by what you witnessed [though I cannot imagine what you have seen over the years] . I hope you have some quieter times in the run up to Christmas , hopefully you manage to enjoy some rest and are able to celebrate Christmas with your family .A great big thank you to your colleagues and yourself for what you do for the people of this country.:)

Dear Capt. Thank you so much for your very kind message. Finger's crossed we have a quiet Christmas and New Year. Take care XX

Hi pete hope you have a quiet shift tonight with not many problems. Take care x

I wish all the members of the "Emergency Services" (Police, Firies, Ambos, Nurses etc etc) a happy, safe and quiet Christmas period. As a retired member of that fraternity myself (Think Cooper!) I know full well the stresses of this time of year.

If you want to know....... I do NOT miss it one bit!!!!! :17:

Thanks so much Gill xxx
Sorry I was feeling a bit fed up yesterday,it was the first of my seven evenings/nights,and my daughter was just going back to Liverpool, she only came home for Christmas Thursday afternoon and she's gone back already, she's a nurse and working over Christmas, she's 22 but she's still my little girl,it makes you sad doesn't it,
The shift wasn't as bad with drunks as I thought, apart from one drunk who spit vomit in my face from six inches while I was helping them, everyone was really nice with genuine illnesses or accidents,
Thanks for the kind message, here's to six more,
Pete xxx

Hi Pete. Thank's for your message. I do hope the rest of your week goes well. I am working tonight hope we are not too busy with you no what. Take care XX.

Dear Pete. That would be lovely. We could share our work experiences. Best wishes. XX

My shift ' s have been changed. I have to now work Monday morning instead of tonight as two people have phoned in sick.give's me chance to watch Crum's as I have not watched it this week yet. Anybody watching any Summer Wine tonight?

Did anyone see the news story that hospital admission's for alcohol poisoning have doubled in the last 6 year's. I can well believe that on what i have seen. So i'm getting prepared for my shift's over Christmas and New Year. Off work now until Christmas Eve. Take care all X
