I did not want to let this genius of puppetry's passing to go unrecorded . Gordon was the man behind Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley which are both epic shows and ground breaking in terms of the technology used to make them. His use of stop motion techniques pre-dates those used by Aardman for Wallace and Grommit . Voiced by Brian Cant of Play School the shows marked a new Era in Children's TV and I hope people on the forum also enjoyed these shows and admired his work . A sad day , thank you for adding vibrant colour to my childhood.

Unfortunately these programmes were too late for my infant self. It was all puppets on strings as in Andy Pandy, Woodentops and Bill and Ben for me in the early 1950s!
