Thanks everyone - was away on the birthday in thr south Lakes, seemingto spend some time waiting for trains on remote railway platforms - ones with no announcements or electronic signage. Just a time table and a expectation that something will turn up! No help points, signal boxeds or anything. And not much in the way of a mobile signal either!
