How about pancakes thin enough to read a love letter through? At least, that's the test of properly made Shrove Tuesday pancakes as stated in Barbara Pym's novel A Glass of Blessings.

Many people name their sons after famous people from the place of their birth . Many , many English families have sons called George after St George the patron saint and commemorated in a special day 23rd April . In a similar vein an inordinate number of family sons are named Andrew in Scotland after their patron saint and commemorated on his day 30th November . How many Irish families have a son called Pancake named after that famous day . :fp::tw:
