House Update 1

Hi Everyone

Well all the old fireplaces have been removed, along with a lot of old plaster that was about to fall off, one of the bedroom ceilings is in a bad way and will need re plastering,we have worked out the house wiring as it stands and what need to be done with that, the lino tiled kitchen floor has been removed, a new doorway has been made from the kitchen through to the old outside loo room, this will be the laundry/boiler room when finished, the old bathroom has been stripped and this week the plumber is in residence fitting central heating and all the required plumbing,we have gained access to the loft and not to full of rubbish but the insulation is passed it's sell by date, so that has to be removed and new insulation laid, the chimneys now need capping off

There are still a few places doing free insulation so that might be worth looking into. Sounds like its all keeping you out of trouble

British Gas are doing insulation free , campaign online, you can check qualification by submitting post code online and answering a few simple questions , if you qualify they send you an invitation to set up an inspection visit . It covers loft insulation , cavity wall etc

All too often the wiring gets forgotten, and it's hard to replace later.

The wiring will be brought up to the IET 17th Edition,I have more earth wire than I know what to do with
