how many last Of The Summer Wine - Series is there

can someone please help me my grandad is mad about last of the summer wine. I'm trying to get them all on DVD could someone please tell me how many series there is and how many i can get on DVD and also if you can buy the Xmas specials on DVD thanks so to anyone that can help me.
 
There are currently making series 31.
You can but 1-16 on dvd and there is a collection of xmas episodes out on region 1 (USA) which can be bought on line.

The release date is October 13th and the xmas specials are from 78-82 which by my reckoning are;
A Small Tune on a Penny Wassail
Whoops
All Mod Conned
and A Funny Side of Christmas
There may be more but those are specials of those years.Hope that helps.

All Mod Conned,one of my favourites,when Compo fell through the caravan roof I nearly died laughing,how about each member posting their top 10 all time favourites and we can see if there is a pattern,I will start a new heading and list mine

Hopefully there will be MANY more. Ever since getting addicted to the show I bought the DVDs that were out at the moment which was the collection set (most of the Blamire episodes), the 1995 series and series 3 (Foggy's starting run of the show). So I admit on getting ecstatic when there's a DVD release of the show here. It's slowly coming out, hopefully the sales are good and continue to where we can get the whole show. My only disagreement is the slow releasing of it. Welcome to the forums Jackanory!!
 
Hmm... Just in case there needs to be some specification.

Series 1 - 16 is out on Region 2 (UK)

In the US

A DVD collection of episodes (not all of them) from Series 1 and 2.
Series 3
Series 4
Series 5
Series 17

and the new Christmas specials DVD that is coming out Tuesday.. ;D ;D ;D

...and like I said before.. HOPEFULLY many more!

I hope to contribute to the forum in the future but
I am guessing that I'm like other fans who are missing
the Xmas specials from our collections.

Nice to see the SPELL CHECKER.
 
Series 1-16 are available on Playback from amazon.co.uk. They are all
DVD Region 2 PAL-encoded. They all play just fine on my Philips DVD
players that can be hacked to play all regions (region=0). There
are other DVD players available in the US that can do this as well.

Anybody need any help choosing and hacking a US DVD player
to play Region 2 PAL discs, just ask.

Just finished watching "All Mod Conned" on the LOTSW Christmas Specials 1978 -1982 DVDs that arrived in my mail today. No extras or anything just the 4 Christmas Specials.
