For Christmas day TV on ITV3, for a change they are showing Carry On films all day, Oh wait they have done that for the last 15 years, hope they have a new VHS tape this year, the last few years it was wearing thin

That's on all the time now, I liked it first time round but it's annoying now.

I wonder if there's a Fools and Horses fan out there somewhere saying " Blimey not Summer Wine again!! I liked it first time round but it's annoying now" ?? :35: I doubt it! :29:

If they are going to show old material why can't they show some of the classic Ealing Comedies Ladykillers, Tifield Thunderbolt, Whisky Galore , Passport to Pimlico etc or classic comedies such as It's a mad mad mad mad world , Laurel and Hardy, Pink Panther series [excluding that trite remake with Steve Martin ] even some of the classic Jacques Tati films such an Mon Oncle or Les Vacances de M. Hulot which are delightfully shot and full of brilliant comedic moments . I suppose it all comes down to licences and cost of the licences to show the films . Whilst OFAH is great its featured on Gold pretty much everyday .

Me too, why do they do that?

I love The Italian Job but they ruined the remake, its like they have no good ideas of their own and have to rehash old classics but add sex and violence.

TV and Film has been like that for a few years now,nothing original,even the soaps recycle each others disasters and story lines, I am waiting for the movie The Sound of Rap Music

They made a real Horlicks of The Lady Killers with Tom Hanks in the lead. It was nothing without the little old lady ""Ma"" Mrs Lopsided! :42: ;D
 
TV and Movies are strewn with remakes of classics which cannot hold a candle to the original . The biggest travesty in my view was trying to remake the Prisoner , as a classic they should have left it alone , or here's a novelty, show the original .

Imagine it must be who owns the rights and terrestrial/satellite TV probably think its sadly old hat and therefore for the Commercial stations there is no advertising Revenue in it for them . Other than possibly some of the shorts like our beloved LOTSW on UK Gold they have to create a break point to fit the adverts in . The BBC used to regularly feature them on Saturday Morning TV until the plethora of Cookery programmes arrived offering you dishes that cost an absolute fortune to recreate even if you have the necessary skills.
 
And as a special treat they are showing on the Buses most of boxing day, what a treat again
