No. No, it isn't.

I can understand and tolerate tv adverts for Christmas tat from early November - making and selling the stuff keeps millions of people in work. Of course I have to say that while I'm promoting my book as a Christmas gift idea!

What I cannot tolerate is... my neighbour opposite has had a Christmas tree with twinkling lights in their front window - for over a week - already! :fp:

I can beat your neighbour, I was watching A Tale Of Two Sweaters in mid October!!!!

Actually, there are things that you can do like working on your Christmas card list, pulling out your decorations and deciding how to decorate, and deciding what gifts to purchase and where to go. These preliminary strategies may work to make Christmas a little less hectic.

Back when I could be bothered to decorate for the holidays, I'd put the tree up and decorate it around mid-December, but wouldn't turn on the lights until the winter solstice. I was celebrating the pagan holiday with our ancient ancestors.

Accidentally, that's what we have done - since moving we've not worked out where to store everything, so the boxes of artificial tree, lights and decorations are stacked up in the lounge!

There are people where I live [not exactly Chelsea !!!] that leave their dekkies up ALL YEAR......they just sit there...attached to the outside of the house...... power off........looking all miserable during the summer months.....then.......as mid November approaches.....it's the switch on !!!! [forget Regent Street in London !!!]....a quick flick of the switch and it is "LAPLAND BY THE MERSEY !!!!".
X!
