Lazy or Not ?

LOTSW Fanatic
Twitter has apparently gone into overdrive regarding ready-peeled oranges in plastic tubs. Other fruit has been trialled.
Most respondents are claiming that we humans are just getting lazy and will soon want everything done for us.
Others are saying "What about people with arthritic hands etc who cannot peel their own ??"

Any thoughts everyone??

Hi Dick. Ready peeled oranges and other fruit and veg ready to use would come in very useful for people who have suffered injuries, working in hospital I can certainly see the benefits.

I haven't yet seen peeled citrus in my local supermarket, but I wish it had been there each time that my right wrist (dominant hand) was in a cast/external fixator. Both times, I had no strength in the fingers on that hand, so couldn't do anything that required holding an object while manipulating it, as in holding an orange while peeling it.

Shopping in ASDA yesterday they sell a comprehensive range of ready prepared veg to take the grind out of it for the consumers and would certainly benefit people who have ailments , which cause them difficulties when peeling/chopping veg/fruit. My Mam has arthritis in her hands so her favourite veg such as Turnip and Cabbage was off the menu but now with it available in ASDA its perfect for her . The range is definitely expanding , hopefully a side effect is that people who don't have disability and as they said on Twitter are just lazy and cannot be bothered to peel and chop veg might be encouraged to try and not reach for a ready meal or Gregg's Pastie for tea , other brands of meat savouries are available!

I have a friend who works at a local care home, we were chatting this morning and she told me that they have frozen cucumber and cream delivered. I thought that does not sound good. I don't think that would be very nice.

Sounds horrible! It seems as though cucumber would be mushy when it's thawed.

We had a fridge problem once and the tomato's and cucumber came out frosted in the centre. Needless to say we didn't fancy using them:o o:
