Was there ever any thing said about "The Crowcroft Challenge" being linked to Crowcroft in the earlier "Has Anyone Seen a Peruvian Wart?" or did Roy Clarke run out of surnames?

First time of noticing - in "Hermione (the short course)" - the recently deceased Tony Capstick's character, 2nd policeman, is mentioned as having been transferred to Huddersfield in conversation by the replacement, Louis Emerick, to the Ken Kitson 1st PC character.
