LOTSW Fanatic
I've just passed a chap down the town. He made me smile, he was whistling a recognisable tune as he walked. It was The Eagles "Lying Eyes". I thought whistling tunes on the street had gone out of fashion. Obviously not!:35:

Unfortunately some people believe they can whistle and clearly cannot, emitting a sound like dragging your nails down a blackboard. I would have thought it would be on the increase given all of the seeds and nuts people have now introduced into their diet. a sort of Human Trill, thus taking the lead from the birds.

My dad used to whistle a lot. When he was in the garden, and I remember when he was working as a Motor Vehicle Fitter my brother and I used to go with him during school holiday's he and other workmate's would always be whistling I think it was that generation, me or my hubby don't whistle much.

Every time I read this thread I cannot get Pike out of my head , when he sings " Whistle while you work " to the German Captain in the Deadly Detachment episode of Dad's Army.
