Anybody have the lyrics to the LOTSW theme song? My old ears just don't hear the words plainly or fast enough to write 'em down. The lyrics were sung only in two episodes I can recall - both were xmas episodes (Whoops and Getting Sam Home).

I alway thought that was a beautiful song, now reading the lyrics I know for sure. Thank you for posting that George :)
 
Really glad I found this thread. I thought there were a few different versions of the theme song but had not much luck with a general web search. I should have searched these forums first. This place is such a goldmine of information, thanks.
 
At the end of Whoops Series 6 Episode 6, the Holmfirth Choral sing. I think these lyrics may be different? I am not 100% so please correct me if wrong. If right does anyone know where to find this version of lyrics?

As far as I have been able to determine:
“Whoops”, has two verses written by Roy Clarke performed by Holmfirth Choral Society.
“Getting Sam Home”, uses those two verses, plus two more for the opening credits, sung by The Mike Sammes Singers.
“Just a Small Funeral”, The Val Stokes Singers sang lyrics rewritten to reflect Compo's passing.
There was apparently another version of lyrics, written by Bill Owen, that were not used.
