My day out

I love walking, until about 10 years ago almost every holiday with the family was Lake Disrict walking or the Scotish Highlands walking etc.
Now because of age and another condition I am limited to walking locally (around town) unable to go far, so my mileage is made up of lots of short walks.
BUT a couple of days ago one of my dear neigbours (she who cares for me when I have had surgery) took me up to Siblyback Lake for the day.
Walking in the open air, no buildings in sight, fresh breeze in the face, it was brilliant, ending up at the lakeside cafe with tea (served in cups the size of small buckets) and a bacon butty (the size of a good sized house brick)
Best day I've had for years..... literally!

I have to say I found your post really moving and underlines the importance actually appreciating the places whilst I'm lucky enough to be able to travel. If I'm ever in Cornwall the offer is to take you somewhere myself you can show me the sites. Terry can vouch for my driving skills - I learned 'em all from Edie!

Be careful Tony, I am sure one of the gadgets in his car looks just like a London taxi cab meter.

Gonna hold you to that my friend :)

Or put another way, I think it would be great, not only for the potential trip but to meet another summer wino :)
