New Open All Hours Book

I didn't realise there was a new book out for this Christmas all about Open All Hours and it's follow up.

It appears to cover the history of the show, like Andrew Vine's book did for LOTSW.

This book is by Graham McCann, who has already written books on other TV shows.

There is a foreword by Roy Clarke.

The book is called Still Open All Hours.

Haven't got or read this book, but just ordered one.

Not seen it in the shops, otherwise I might have known about it.

The internet really is ruining the book and bookshop industry.

Yes I have the book, well written and researched as others done by Graham McGann. Recommended.

Seems that there is little to be found about this series on the web and I am not aware of a fan base such as we have for SW.

Book arrived on New Years Eve, seems very good.

Seems to me OAH was always second place to Porridge for many people.

Only flicked through a few times, but it seems one of Roy Clarke's scripts was REJECTED for being UNSUITABLE.

Need to thoroughly read the book, but if the whole script was unused, there may be some gold dust out there somewhere.

The photograph opposite page 180 clearly ISN'T on location in Balby; it's clearly some cheap scenery in the studio.
