Was impressed how interested people were in another thread in Norman Wisdom, so thought I'd start a topic just about him for you to contribute to.
For me, he's famous for all those films he did for Rank between 1953 and 1966. He often contributed to the writing, and his best films had Edward Chapman and Jerry Desmonde in them. It was reported he resisted doing them in colour for as long as he could, as he favoured black and white - though he did later deny this.
When his films became unfashionable, he chose to do a surprisingly watchable sex comedy in 1969 called What's Good for the Goose. This was quite risque compared to his earlier films, yet nowadays makes it to the afternoon tv slot. There are reports a more adult version was made.
Norman Wisdom also had his own tv series, yet I don't think they've ever been repeated or put on video.
Norman's last comedy film was as recent as 2007 in the short film Expresso with Don Warrington and Geoffrey Hughes.
