Online Petition

I´m just filling in the form. The comment will also be sent to the BBC, right? Then I am going to write one!

Gosh, I overread that it actually HAS BEEN axed already! That´s a disgrace and I will say a few words in my comment, that´s for sure! How dare they do it like that? If they must, this is not the way to treat such an institution! They will probably laugh at my English if they bother at all, but I don´t care. Wow, this is just what I needed today! >:(

I just read your comment on the petition site and I just wanted to say it is lovely, your English is better than mine and what you said was perfect, Peter will be proud of you.

Oh, thank you so much Robin, this is very kind of you *blush*! I had no idea everyone can read what I wrote, oops!!

It was a well thought out post and beautifully worded.

My true feelings stop me from short of posting any comments with my signature as it would contain a steam of insults the BBC, whom I feel are insulting the intelligence of their older viewers with this diabolocal decison.

Yes, I can only try to imagine what this must be like for all the English fans who grew up with LOTSW. I know it for 1,5 years what is nothing compared to the rest of you. I´m speechless at the moment. But we should have known!

I did sort of half expect it happening if not this year then next. What has got me more annoyed than anything is the fact that the BBC have not given Roy Clarke the chance to let the show bow out the way he would want it to.

I find this as an insult to him more than anyone else, given the years of writing the show, it was the least they could have done, and maybe even have him appear in the episode if only for a few minutes.

I dread to think what Bill Owen would have said had he still been alive, also Kathy Staff.

In all honesty I don't believe the BBC will change their minds, despite it been the viwers who pay the licence fee they act like a set of bully boys who think they are a law unto themselves.

Have added my name plus comment.

I have also received an e mail this evening from elsewhere which reads as follows:

Sad news, I've had official confirmation from Producer Alan Bell that the BBC have informed him they will not be commissioning any more Last of the Summer Wine. The six episodes which are due to be aired in August will be the very last unless something is done. Its now time to act.
Everyone who wants to see Summer Wine return to our screens next year really has to start contacting the BBC expressing your disappointment and telling them you don't want it axed. Even if the BBC don't give us a new series, the least a landmark programme like ours deserves is a final one-off special to say a proper goodbye to the series and a thank you to Roy Clarke for years of laughter. The BBC has allowed this for other long-running series, so why not for Last of the Summer Wine.

Seems that the postponement of the showing of this last series was a stealthy move...

:'( :'( :o :o :( :( >:( >:(

Sorry if anyone has been put off signing the petition as the site ask for donations, it seems if you sign & add your comments, then go to the payment stage,at this point close your browser or go to another site, the comments will be added,Terry

Re: Online Petition and Claye's Drawing

Another super drawing from Claye which is spot on during the current situation with losw and the junk TV we have to put up with, the reality TV idea was imported from the states a few years back, our friends across the pond have suffered it longer than we have, and the general opinion from across the water is they are just as fed up with it as we are, Terry
