Just watched Tarzan Of The Towpath,I may be wrong but I dont remember Compo complaining about his back more than once! Did anyone else remember it?? ??? All that tugging and so on?

My point Ellen is, that in all the others he says he has a bad back to get out of working . In "Tarzan "he does all that pulling of the boat with Truly and Clegg in it and barely makes a murmur. He does say at one point though "" I notice who's doing all the work!!"

Is it Tarzan of the Towpath, or is it the one before, Beware of the Oglethorpe, where Nora stands on Compo's back?

I remember in The Changing Face of Rural Blamire that Compo is concerned that their new work may be too heavy for his bad back.

Remember his back was a social security back mainly for work avoidance duty ,don't think a big game hunter would survive with a bad back.He complained regularily about his back all the way through the series especialy when work was in the offing!
