HI DE HI actor Paul Shane who played Ted Bovis has died aged 72.

Also just read on twitter that the actor Arnold Peters who played Gordon Lippenscale in Whoops has died at the age of 87.

Yes very sad about about Paul Shane. I have been involved with Croft & Perry week-ends in Norfolk in the past and met Paul at one of them and of course Dads Army and HI De Hi stars.

Paul would have been a great LOTSW guest,,what with being a Yorkshireman too.Could have played another Simmonite

I always enjoyed watching him in Hi Di Hi and You rang m' Lord.He always seemed to come across as very natural and funny.
