Today would have been Peter Sallis's 98th birthday.
I still cannot believe that he's gone.

Peter lives on for me most days thanks to DVD's.

Not only lives on as Cleggy but as Wallace for adults and children alike thanks to the medium of DVD . With very few faults ever occurring with that medium imagine our concern if development had concluded when they produced VHS tape because I fear some of us would beso upset to see our beloved tapes being mangled in the video player with no real way of replacing for those not using pre-recorded versions in preference to our own copies . I know Rod [well I believe he has] some VHS copies of the show but not sure if he actually plays them , apologies Barmpot if I am incorrect.

Also the other major thing about DVD's (for me at least) is that take up less room than a VHS tape on the shelf.

When I watch the first series of Last of The Summer Wine, I just want to step through the TV screen to be with Blamire, Compo and Clegg.
