Once the crosses are there they tend to stay there unless the family remove it, sounds bad but I have my mother and mother in laws in my garden.The plain cross placed by the funeral director is still there. I wonder if the headstone is so new that T.W. Birks and Son haven't yet had time to come up from their place on Woodhead Road to retrieve the temporary marker that they placed when they handled the burial.
