can anyone tell me how to put a photo on here, that isn't an avatar, so many of you seem to know what your doing,

I am no techi, so a 'for dummies' guide please

I just rechecked the method. You need to set up an account on something like Photobucket:

Upload your photograph there and then Copy and paste the IMG Link to here. Any problem, send it to me and I'll upload it for you.
