Thanks for posting this info Chris,I did spot it yesterday on a news report,if these people got a real job they could probably go places

I got caught by something similar a few months ago and it effectively stopped my computer working while demanding a £100 fee for it to function properly again. No way was I going to fall for this and took my comp to my local shop who had to reinstall windows.
Apparently the low lifes behind this hack had targeted popular video gaming sites amongst others.

I've seen tweets about this from the local police. My bank doesn't know my email address so I'd be suspicious from the start.

I agree with Terry, if the poachers becoming game keeps they would probably make just has much money!

Another scam is when the camera on your computer goes off and the screen is taken over by a memo supposedly from the Met Police accusing you of watching child porn online. The page looks official but look to the right and you see a pay point for the fine a dodgy credit card I have never heard of.This scam can only be removed by experts and this version is difficult ,this sort of thing is as bad as the phone calls from India the latest is from UK Energy survey but is nothing to do with this british company say this on the phone and they should click off.

Banks will never ask you to log in to your account from an email link, or for you to give them your log on, password details via an email. It really is as simple as that, the fraudsters rely on people trusting that it's genuine and not knowing. Never respond to any such emails and always mark them as a phishing attack.
