Absolutely terrified me. I'm 58 now and although they haven't terrified me since my kid days, I still cringe when I see them much to my best friends joy.
Ughhhh horrid little things.

The scene in the movie The Lost Weekend in which the main character is suffering from DTs and imagines that he sees a bat emerging from a crack in the plaster wall. I saw this movie on TV when I was far too young. Wouldn't have been permitted to watch if my mother hadn't been too busy in the kitchen to pay attention.

Talking of "Worzel Gummidge", amongst the stars who appeared in the show [Joan Simms,Billy Connelly,Bill Maynard] guess who was Mrs Bloomsbury Barton's [a.k.a. Joan Simms] maid ????....NONE OTHER THAN OUR GLENDA !!!!!!!!!.......looking very very young !!!.

I imagine many children were traumatised by Dr Who when it first appeared I loved it because it was so different . When the Dalek's appeared that was an iconic moment but the spread of imitations in the schoolyard and people doing the voices to death was simply annoying.

I'm exactly the same, Daleks didn't bother me, the just looked comical and you could always run up the stairs to get away from them!

You're right the Cybermen really gave me the willies too!!!!
