In the series 12 episode "The Charity Balls" Clegg buys apples and Compo steals a peach from Jack Harry Teesdale's grocers. Clegg did go inside the shop but was served from the display outside.

Here’s the thing
They don’t really EAT anything on this show
So why buy food?
All they need to exist is cup after cup after cup of hot sweet tea
And for every three cups of tea they will quaff down a pint of ale
And for every three pints of ale they buy a whiskey
God if they ever actually ate anything after all that they bloom in’ burst
