This information was posted on Juliette Kaplan's (Pearl) website,so I trust you will act on the information below, even if it is another scare it is still worth acting on,though if the BBC have axed the show it may be a case of the producer and writer taking it to another channel, that no doubt would welcome it, shame to have it ruined with adverts,Terry

While it comes as no surprise really, I suppose I expected the powers to wait until the new series had been aired before acting finally.
After 37 years service, the show, the writer, the cast and the fans deserve a proper ending to the show, with it being carrried out on its shield and in a way that Roy could've chosen rather than like this.
Whilst I would still welcome a move to a new channel if it meant more episodes and while I also think that another Channel such as 4 or Sky One would buy it up, it just wouldn't be the same.
A sad day even though it wasn't unexpected.

And what we we get in it's place, another celebrity driven pile of trash. Something like Celebrity toilet cleaning, they might as well given the garbage they waste the licence fee on. >:(

Aye, it will be 'Celeb/Pleb job swap' or some such nonsense, where Robbie Williams is a park attendant 3 days a week, while Norman from Skegness Parks Dept becomes a bloated, money driven tart in return.

Now that sounds like it could be interesting, maybe we could get jobs as BBC controllers for a week, with the power to axe whatever WE wanted

Not a new comic, but a very loud speaking one. Again, I give you all my permission AND encouragement to pass this one around.

It sure feels like the BBC is giving Compo a swift kick in the rear. :(

Here is another suggestion I read about on the other LotSW forums. Sending emails and letters to Radio Times. I'm sure they would probably take note if more than one email/letter was sent.

Worth a shot anyways.

I doubt that very much, although I agree it would be a good idea.
In all honesty, I believe they are determined to end the show, no matter what, and given how it appears the amount
of contempt those arrogant so-and-so's treat their licence payers with they would bin the letters except for the odd
one or two as a 'token' gesture to the complaints.

Firstly I have a a big fan of LOTSW for many, many years- BUT sorry to say it is about time the series ended whilst there is still some moderate laughs left. No longer the belly laughs of 10/20 years ago but now just raises the odd smile. It regretably suffered a decline when Bill Owen died and now that Kathy Staff has gone I think that was the final curtain for the show.

The cast are ageing and it is reflected in the scripts. Yes I too will miss the beautiful scenery in and around Holmefirth and will miss Howarth, Marina, Cleggy etc etc. Thankfully I have all the dvds and UKGold to watch the shows when it was at its best. After 35 plus years sad to say The last bottle of Summer Wine is now empty.

The BBC love comments like that.
It's NOT the fact it is ending but they way they are ending it.
Roy Clarke should have been allowed to end the series as he would have wanted and not with the
contempt the BBC appear to have treat him, after all these years of penning so may wonderful episodes
he deserves that at the VERY least.
