Do not understand, please explain??

Also, what is exactly A Bob, or is it just a random
term for Some Money??

Ok Chuck , Pearl found £1.10 when cleaning, the "Cockney" refers essentially to the way a cockney would say £1.10 difficult to express in writing but " Pownten" is a decent stab at it. It's close to well known Shampoo Pantene which sells in the UK , not sure if you have in the US . It is my attempt at a play on words as it ties in with what Pearl had found in cash

Bob is/was a slang term for 1 shilling from the days when there were 20 shillings to the £. A few bob became acceptable when either wanting to earn or borrow some money." Lend us a few bob till payday! ":08:
