Too many loafs

I was recently in Tesco the other day and was appalled at how many variety of loaf there is. I picked up my usual hovis and was confused because there was too many. Do you remember as a kid when there was only one loaf? It did t cost that much either.

As did burnt toast I was told by my mother mainly because of her lack of ability as a cook I suspect .
