For the last few years if I have found a nice place to stay or eat I have always left feedback on TripAdvisor, the same if the place was not so good. For our trip last month to Yorkshire for Christmas day we stayed in our usual B&B in Oxenhope and once again left a positive review as we always get great service, this time I made the point in the review that they did not hike the price up because it was Christmas, which most places tend to do.

TripAdvisor did not like this and asked me to amend the review, I pointed out to them that it was a honest review and the point deserved mentioning, once again they would not publish it,so I cancelled the account and asked them not send any further mails, this they did until today when they mailed to asked how they did when I contacted them and was the issue resolved,if they don't know by me leaving they cannot read what is sent to them

If they are going to influence reviews - then what is the point? Either you tell the truth even if not terribly nice or not bother. Shall ignore them if that is their answer.

Sound's to me like they only want bad review's so it make's them look good.

As Rod said, what's the point if you can't honest?? Makes you wonder how many others have been " amended"

As an aside Terry did you see the Restoration Man programme on Thursday gone it was centred on a couple who bought the old Baptist Church in Oxenhope and turned it into a home . It was a labour of love they even uncovered the Baptism pool and have made a feature of it plus they re-used lots of the original fittings to reconstruct the interior .

One of the most poignant things was they fact they recreated the concept of the original Baptist Church functions which was to draw the community together and they invited the village including the local Brass Band for a garden party . Whilst I know some people see it a irreverent to convert places of worship into domestic dwellings but at least in this case the derelict property has been preserved from probably demolition and they have embodied some of the tradition associated with the Church.
