I know over the years that things have changed in the show, and at times we can be led to believe they have always been like that, while watching one of the earlier shows "The Flag and Further Snags" they spend a while in Nora's house, which is a studio set
Now in this episode they appear at the front door, she has a large hallway, they turn right into the front room where Nora is standing on the table, now in later episodes her kitchen is to the right of the front door, also when she looks out of the kitchen window there is little to spoil the view, yet in this episode there are buildings overlooking the window of the front room and when they enter the door, I am guessing at the time they never expected the show to run for so long and vast changes would be made, in reality the hallway is narrow, the kitchen is to the right of the front door and the only room at that level, with the bulk of the house spread over 2 upper floors, the top floor spreads over the building on the right of the house, which I think was often used as the window Compo used to look out of when he was in his bedroom
