Mr Clarke used crushing in Open All Hours . In the mystical boudoir of Nurse Gladys Emmanuel at the start of the episode, Granville and Arkwright are moving a freezer out of the shop when Arkwright drops one end on his foot . Arkwright utters the immortal line " I've crushed me frrrr! " to which Nurse Gladys replies "that's nasty" . There is a little banter between them culminating in Arkwright uttering "You know I shall never get into Nurse Gladys's bedroom" with Granville replying "Not much point if you've crushed yer frrr !" Brilliant.
