What is Going to Happen Now

A few folk have already been in touch to ask what will happen to this website and forum, well even if the BBC are happy to give up on the show I will keep the site running for as long as there is a demand for it

I will strive to keep the interest going and if there is anything new you would like to see on the forum, then let me know, maybe for those members who can travel we could all meet later this year and have a day of mourning somewhere around Holmfirth, weather permitting have a picnic in those hills, let me know what you think

I think in the meantime we should not throw in the towel, maybe the least we could hope for is a farewell special, or even a change of channel, maybe under a new title, Neither Alan Bell or Roy Clarke gave up when they lost over the years some of the great cast they had

This decision by the BBC has wide reaching effects, The Cast,Crew,Director,Writer, the millions of fans worldwide, along with Holmfirth and surrounding area's that have built their business up around losw, how may years will it be before the tourist from all over the world stop visiting Sid's Cafe, Nora's and the many other places known just because of losw.

Some folk from the area of Holmfirth say it will be a better place, but in 5-10 years I can see it like any other market town, full of the same shops as in any other town you can visit and the current constant flow of tourist money will vanish.

So as it was once said in the series, Keep Your Chins up

Terry I like the idea of meeting up. A touch of When you take a bite Yorkshire tastes terrible!

I am also sure that many of us will wish to see the website continue: it will be the one way of keeping the ideas alive and keeping the wine flowing....

Totally agree. I too would love a meet up, I am only a couple of hours away by bus.

It would be nice to meet up with other like minded fans.

Good idea to meet up. I would like to think that another channel would take it. How about Gold as we still get them every night at the moment and never tire of seeing them.

Well Gold is 50% own by BBC and 50% ITV, it may be the case that ITV would take the show on for ITV,then in a few years they would have something to show on Gold in years to come
