There is a couple of Ford Consoles, a Cortina and a HumberCan anyone name the cars featured? The only one I know is the second one back on the right which is an Austin Mini. I'd be interested to know what the others are....
A fellow I dated briefly in the early '60s drove a Ford Console. Can't remember his name, but the car was memorable because it was an unusual model. There is a couple of Ford Consoles, a Cortina and a Humber
The shape of the front and grille makes me think that's a Bedford van. The Shinyglow van was an Austin A152.What is the black van in the middle of the road towards the back of the picture facing the camera, looks similar to the one Blamire drove selling Shinyglow?
The Austin 1800, a mini just with bigger everythingFunnily enough, I can remember us HAVING a few of those vehicles. AT various times we had a Ford Consul and we also had a Bedford van, which dad converted into a camper.
I had a MORRIS Mini when I was at Uni. It had an 850cc motor and was (I believe) the first model to have wind up windows. It used to take a gallon of oil, a teaspoon of petrol and you could burp into the tyres to inflate them!! LOL. I can vividly remember NINE! (9) of us in it, all Uni students (of course) one day going to some local sporting event. "Not so squeezy!"
I graduated from the Mini to an Austin 1800! ...GREAT car, just tended to overheat a lot!
Oh NO!! not the one I had! While it WAS bigger (he said laughingly given the size of today's cars...especially here in OZ) It was MUCH more luxurious! The seats were sumptuous...especially when the front ones were folded back...very comfy for sleeping and other "student" activities!. Not sure if it was a feature of all models, but mine had a sliding speedo.... instead of the standard round dial mine had a horizontal band with a sliding marker that moved to the right the faster you went! The Austin 1800, a mini just with bigger everything
I had the A60 back in the 70's, as you say a solid motor in their dayI had a few Wolseley 18/85 models. Good solid cars.
I always recall my dad telling me his first ever car was a Wolseley 1500 which he liked..I had a few Wolseley 18/85 models. Good solid cars.
