Why???

In the episode "Who Made a bit of a Splash in Wales" when Cleggy was in the hire car on the garage forecourt and went in reverse instead of forward, did the chap run toward the rear of the reversing car, if he had stayed where he was Cleggy would of missed him by miles, I wonder if the action ran late and by the time they got to see what it looked like it was to late to do it again

I agree with you. It does look as if he is walking towards the reversing car from off screen. If the garage attendant had stayed put or even ran the other way he would have been safer but I doubt we would have seen it from the camera angle. Ideally he should have been about ten steps ahead of where he was for optimal placement.
