Speaking of currents, these are small dried fruits that are grown on bushes. They are not usually available in the US because at one time commercial cultivation of them was outlawed due to the belief that they were spreading disease affecting the timber industry. Instead small dried grapes were imported and called currents due to a mistranslation of the word, Corinth. Today these are known as Zante currents. So strange that I cannot obtain actual real currents.
