For my money, Whitby beats Scarborough. I'll take climbing the 199 steps over riding the funicular. And there are some work-arounds for those who are less mobile. The tour bus starts from down in the town and drives up to the Abbey...

And I had the words stored away in my memory without knowing that I had ever before heard either tune or words. I saw that episode way back when I could still hear. I'd never have picked up on it now - even with top-of-the-line hearing...
