For me it is Car and Garter where he is the one convinced to attempt the latest crazy stunt which Compo initially avoids, and ultimately does (it appearss Sid has more bravery to try the racing rather than face Ivy - a wise decision)...

I liked seeing him playing golf and enjoying himself in 'The Kink in Foggy's Niblick', and everything he did in 'Getting Sam Home'.

I think he was brilliant. He (John) got his character so spot on. The nuances perfected. Absolutely top tier actor. Strangely I was watching him the other day in Serenade For.... episode and realised how excellent he was. Truly missed.

I think personally Sids death left a massive hole in the early days. He played a great foil to the trios antics and of course on times joined in. Plus he had some great lines . What was youre favourite Sid Moment.

Hi T&R, welcome! Pretty much the same story here. We have all the R1 DVDs (except for the Christmas specials which were on the regular seasons anyway). It is great that PBS, which only puts forward a select number of BBC programs...

Welcome aboard, what I would give these days to come across a show like LOSW as something I had never seen before, then to discover there are hundreds of episodes to enjoy and see for the first time

Hello All, My wife and I have been LOTSW fans for about 7 years now after catching it on PBS on Saturday nights. We kind of stumbled onto it by accident, but ended up buying DVD after DVD until I think we've got them all, or close to...
