He effectively played the same character primarily glum and morose in all of these and more , he had a guest appearance in One Foot in the Grave and he was the same in that made Victor a headstone for his grave . :) -

A great find, Bill from all quarters sadly has been coming across as a rather solitary figure but one that fought fierecely for the working classes. An excellent all round actor that made a unique character in Thelmas' dad Compo. -

Ran across this while perusing Internet Archive, it was created by Roy Clarke who penned the pilot, most of the series was written by Alan Plater, stars Bill Maynard. Oh No It's Selwin Froggitt (all 4 seasons 1974-78). -
