Can you still read the papers in the library or has that facility long gone with the cutbacks ? [I suppose it may be digital now with no hard copies ]

Jeez, these days, why would one want to???
Silence dear boy !! In a world where noise is so prevalent and abhorrent wouldn't it be nice to site somewhere where the reading room is silent and you can concentrate on the matter in hand instead of constantly being disrupted by often inane chuntering .
In some cases there are detrimental effects a friend of mine went to get his haircut , the hairdresser asked " How would you like your hair cut today " to which my friend retorted " In complete silence" [ having suffered many years of barber's drivel] . Needless to say the hairdresser was less than pleased and the hair styling he received was not dissimilar to a Coconut that had been knocked about a bit on the shy , in a word Tufty
