Most of the supermarket toilets in our town did stay open during lockdown. In one, we were only allowed in with permission, and an attendant to clean them afterwards.

I'm sure that the supermarket would REALLY APPRICIATE it, if when you use their conveniences, that you purchase something on the way out of the store. On another note, what if you're north of 50 years and you have NO MEANS or any idea of how to make a "contactless payment." Good thing the supermarket is close by.

I think contactless has been here much longer than there so pretty much everyone has used it now, I know some aren't keen but everyone I know even over 70 ae using it.

I've never been told to buy something every time I use the supermarket toilets. They don't seem to mind.
 
Well, when I have to go, I really HAVE to go, so it's a good job our town has plenty of toilets, and all within quick walking distance of all parts of the town.

Good thing you don't live in Kirklees (where Holmfirth is)! Quite a while ago they closed all of their public conveniences, leaving only the ones in Holmfirth, which are owned by the town.
