It's called White Coat Syndrome. One thing to do is use a blood pressure machine at home and message the doctor with your readings. And of course prior to doing that, bring the machine to a doctor's appointment so the doctor can ensure its accuracy.

Thankfully they know this and will lend you a blood pressure machine for a week.
I remember having to spend 4 days in hospital because my heart rate was 140 and I explained to the GP I've just had 2 puffs on my salbutamol and it can literally zoom your heart rate. Straight to hospital and obviously now I'm panicking heart rate high but no breathlessness or pain. I was not a happy bunny.
4 days later "you're perfectly fine you can go home". Unimpressed!!!
