From 1948: "On a Slow Boat to China"- Kay Kyser Orchestra, Vocals by Harry Babbitt and Gloria Wood. I've had this song on heavy rotation for the past month. Gloria Wood has the jazzy, flashy vocal, but it's beautifully set up with Harry Babbitt's smooth lead in.

"The Changing of the Guard"- The Marquis of Kensington Love the song as well as the West German youth culture show.

Ringo Starr- "Photograph" Ever have a song become acutely relevant after having heard it for many years without it ever having applied to you? This is one of those songs for me.

A delightful March 1975 Radio Times cover promoting Series Two. I like the reference to The Likely Lads and the then-recently finished Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads, programs I absolutely adore.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm happy you're enjoying the reviews. I know I'll resume the reviews, it's just a question of overcoming my recent laziness! I'm also presently watching a much-later era, which makes me wonder if I should stop that, or just write about the series out of order.

"Babe" by Styx. Not a group of which I'm especially fond, but I can't deny the song is a classic, and one that carries an inescapable nostalgia for me from that time (1979). Another of the group's songs, "The Best of Times" has a similar power of nostalgia.
